In this series course, you will be introduced to the 5 Points of Yoga for vibrant health, 12 basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), sun salutations (surya namaskar), relaxation exercises, introduction to proper diet, positive thinking and meditation.
No previous yoga experience necessary. All courses are four-weeks, with students meeting twice a week for classes of 90 minutes each.
Yoga therapy brings together the most valuable and effective techniques coming from the tradition of hatha yoga in combination with practical and efficient methods drawn out of science and different somatic techniques. These well integrated elements coming from various origins and traditions work together towards the improvement of health, recovery of injuries or the pursuit of well being. We will focus in exploring and understanding yoga as a healing and therapeutic modality. Comprehensive and gentle enough for all people and levels. (All levels /75)
A comprehensive, well-rounded practice comprised by asana, pranayama, mudras, kriyas, mantras, yoga nidra and meditation; most of the traditional and essential elements that constitute an authentic holistic practice. Discover the trans formative power of an ancient practice that if applied in a complete way can yield numerous benefits at all dimensions of the koshas within our human being. (All levels /75 or 90)
SUN AND MOON
One of the main proposes of this practice is to bring the two forces that pervade all existence into a harmonious place of equanimity. We’ll learn how to cultivate the awareness that enable us to sense our energetic state to then use the practice as a tool to reach the ideal state of balance in daily life. Instead of comprehend these concepts at an intellectual level, we aim to experience and embody these principals of life and nature. Half of the class will have a dynamic and active character while the other half will turn us inwards taking us into a passive and calming state of body and mind. (some experience is required / 90)
Employing the rich concept of vinyasa krama to be able us to tap into the inherent potential dynamism of the body coordinated with the breath in a gradual and gentle approach that moves the body to greater balance, strength and flexibility. Emerge gradually into an organic connection and opening of the body utilizing appropriate set of sequences that will focus the mind while enhancing steadiness and resilience with comfort and lightness. (Intermediate and advanced / 60, 75 or 90)
These classes merge the beautiful sister sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga. Seasonal routines with dosha specific asana are designed to balance, maintain and sustain health.
